Malcolm Curtis - 67
Malcolm, a former rally car owner and privateer in the Natal Regional Championships in South Africa, 1984 to 1991. After moving to Vancouver, he volunteered as a turn worker, ending up as Course Marshal. In 2012 Malcolm switched to crew chief for John. During that year he completed the requirements to go road racing. 2013 was Malcolm’s first full season in his own BMW 325i, where he finished 2nd in the inaugural PRO3 Championship. Malcolm competed in the PRO3 class in 2014 through 2017. After a sabbatical in 2018, Malcolm returned in 2019 with a car that was converted to a S50 M3 power plant, competing in the GTM and IPE Classes. A number of gremlins had to get sorted and once the engine had been properly rebuilt and oil leak issues addressed, Malcolm was elated to pilot the car to a 2nd overall in the final race of 2020. Although the GTM Class did not have sufficient cars to sanction a championship for 2020, Malcolm lead the class at the end of 2020.
